ELEMENTARY GRAMMAR

POSESIVES:

   My------- Used for the first person in Spanish. . My name is Carlos
   You------ Used for the second person in Spanish. Your name is Patty
   His------ Used for the third person in Spanish specific for males. His name is Pedro
   Her------Used for the third person in Spanish specific for females. Her name is Maria

THIS OR THAT:

      This---- use “This” for things or persons which are near to you.
      That-----use “That” for things or persons which are not near to you.
 
THE ARTICLE “A” OR “AN”:

      Before words that beginning with consonant use the article “a”.
      Before words that beginning with vowels use the article “an”. 

                  This is a book / this is Michael
                  That is Jennifer / that is an orange

 

VERB TO BE:

       In English the verb is always after the personal pronoun.

       Am, Are and Is equal to verb this is call the “verb to be”.

        REMEMBER!!!

               The pronoun “I”  always writes with capital letter  
               The three third personal in singular He, She and It.

              “He” is used for males persons.

 

                She” is used for females persons and “It” is used for things or animals
                  Notice that in English the sign of question is at the end.

      Excuse me: It’s used to call the attention of someone.
      Over there:  It’s used to indicate that something or someone is in another place or
                           Position
       I’m sorry:   It’s used to say for apologizing. Or just sorry.
       I think:        It’s used to express you have an idea or plan in mind.
       You’re right: It’s used to express you are in reason.
       By the way: It’s used to change the topic in a conversation.
       It’s nice to meet you: It’s used to say hello to a person that you know first time.
